U.S. State Department Releases October 2024 Visa Bulletin

The October 2024 Visa Bulletin has been released by the Department of State, which is the first visa bulletin for the new fiscal year. This monthly update is crucial for understanding which Adjustment of Status applications are currently eligible to move forward. The bulletin outlines adjustments in both family-sponsored and employment-based immigration categories, impacting waiting times, eligibility, and processing priorities

Though there has been some movement, the changes in the Visa Bulletin from September 2024 to October 2024 have not been dramatic. Most categories only saw moderate advancement, especially for applicants from India and China, where backlogs remain a persistent problem.

For the month of October, USCIS has confirmed it will accept Adjustment of Status applications from foreign nationals with a priority date that is earlier than the dates for filing listed in the October 2024 Visa Bulletin for both family-based categories and employment-based categories.

You can access the full October 2024 Visa Bulletin at Visa Bulletin For October 2024 (state.gov).
