USCIS Will Conduct Second Round of H-1B Pre-Registration Selections

US Citizenship and Immigration Services announced on July 30, 2024, that they will hold a second random lottery for H-1B specialty occupation visas to meet an annual cap for fiscal year 2025.

An initial selection was made in March 2024. USCIS has since determined that selection is needed to meet the fiscal year 2025 cap. There will not be a second selection for the advanced degree exemption (commonly referred to as the master’s cap).

USCIS will select additional registrations only from those previously submitted electronically before March 2024. USCIS has not yet indicated an exact date that the second selections will take place, but has informed us that they will update selections via USCIS online accounts.
