Second Random Selection from Previously Submitted Registrations Complete for FY 2024 H-1B CAP

On July 31st, 2023, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services announced the results of the 2nd lottery selection for the H-1B cap-subject petitions for Fiscal Year 2024. From the remaining registrations that were properly submitted, a sufficient number of registrations were randomly selected to reach the cap.

All prospective petitioners with selected registrations from this round of selection have been notified that they are eligible to file an H-1B cap-subject petition for the beneficiary named in the selected registration notice. Only those with selected registrations are allowed to file H-1B cap-subject petitions for FY 2024, and it must be for the beneficiary specified in the selected registration notice.

To file an H-1B cap-subject petition, it must be properly submitted to the correct service center within the filing period indicated on the relevant registration selection notice. The filing period will be at least 90 days. It's important to note that online filing is not available for H-1B petitions, so petitioners must file their petitions by paper. Additionally, a printed copy of the applicable registration selection notice must be included with the FY 2024 H-1B cap-subject petition.

It's crucial to understand that registration selection only determines eligibility to file an H-1B cap-subject petition. Petitioners must still demonstrate their eligibility for petition approval based on the existing statutory and regulatory requirements, even for those eligible for the advanced degree exemption.  For more information, visit the H-1B Electronic Registration Process page.
