Public Charge Rule Eliminated

Effective today, the Trump Administration’s Public Charge Rule that required an extensive form and documentation before a green card could be issued, has been eliminated. The rule was litigated several times in several courts and it’s use has been intermittently required over the past year, depending on the state of litigation. We are happy to announce it has now ended. Immigrants must still show that they have the means to support family members that enter the US, but under a much less onerous standard that existed from 1999 to 2019.
