State Department Increasing Scrutiny of Visa Applicants

The State Department has ordered US consulates to comply with the president's directive to increase screening of visa applicants. This will likely mean increased wait times to obtain a visa appointment at US consulates, more extensive questioning at the visa interview, and greater likelihood of delays due to security clearances, post interview "administrative processing".  We counsel our clients to keep these conditions in mind as they plan their summer travel.
