DHS Starting Campaign to Notify Humanitarian Entrants that they can apply for a Work Permit

The Department of Homeland Security has launched a first of its kind national campaign for noncitizens who are work-eligible but have yet to apply for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD).  The DHS is sending text and email messages to these individuals.  To date, those who have received these messages include individuals who have been paroled through the new Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela (CHNV) parole process, and the Uniting for Ukraine (U4U) parole process.  These efforts are likely in response to the request from several states that the DHS act to issue work permits more expeditiously to handle the large volume of individuals seeking temporary shelter and aid in states.
