Executive Order on "Buy American, Hire American"

On April 18, 2017, President Trump signed an Executive Order entitled "Buy American, Hire American".  In this Order President Trump directed several federal agencies (including DOL, DOJ, DHS and DOS) to review the current laws governing the H-1B program and suggest changes.  The President also indicating that he is directing federal agencies to crack down on fraud and abuse to protect US workers.

Despite its ominous tone, it is important to realize that this Executive Order outlines the president's strategy, but does not change existing immigration policy.  Hence, it has no immediate impact on H-1B workers or employers. We will report further on any suggested changes made by those federal agencies with further analysis and predictions.
