H-1B Initial Electronic Registration Selection Process Completed

USCIS has just announced on April 1, 2024 that they have completed all selections for FY2025 H1B preregistrations.  While the official numbers are not in, our firm has received the highest selection rate in years (more than 40% of applicants we put into preregistration were selected – this is compared to about 30% last year and the year prior).  The reworked preregistration system was not without glitches, and this resulted in an extension of the deadline as well as some issues with visibility into selected applicants. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has received enough electronic registrations for unique beneficiaries during the initial registration period to reach the fiscal year (FY) 2025 H-1B numerical allocations (H-1B cap), including the advanced degree exemption (master’s cap).
